I also had nothing to review lately. My roommate and I did finally finish the co-op storyline on Portal 2, but I'm still not done with Fire Emblem: Awakening (3DS) and I suck at Shepherd's Crossing (PS2); I just bought Outlast (PC) though and I'm thinking of ordering Dishonored (360) so hopefully I'll have something for you in the days to come.
Anyway, today I really did have something to write about. We had a story in the paper today about the local college graduation and it reminded me that it has been exactly one year today since I graduated college myself. That seems like such a long time, and I thought, "What the heck have I been doing?" Well, I moved out of my mom's place. Actually, my best friend and I now live 7 hours from our hometown. And I actually landed a job in my field (journalism) that I really enjoy. It's definitely a great first step toward my overall goals.
That's what I was up late thinking about the other night - my long-term plans, my dreams of the future. I spent some time feeling nostalgic about my childhood with my cousins and visits to the lake and I miss my Grampa, but then I realized I still have so much more to do! It's only been a year and I'm already making progress. Who knows where I'll end up!
But I'll tell you what I really want. I want travel the world. I want to go everywhere and see everything. I love languages, cultures and traditions, food, religions - I want to go experience it all and then write about it. So others who dream about seeing the world but can't still get to experience the feeling. I want to marry a photographer, and we can visit a new place every week, talking to the people and taking pictures and sharing our travels with others. Someday we may pick a place and settle down and start our own family, but I hope that child has the same dreams of adventure that we did.
But that's all some years away still, I think. In the meantime, I'll marvel that I've been out of school for an entire 365 days.
Speaking of graduation though, two of my three younger sisters will be graduating next year - one from college and the other from high school. Yeah. That's gonna be an...interesting weekend.
Well, ya'll, that's about all I've got for now. Hopefully things will calm down here so I can get this blog back on schedule. Hope to hear from you guys soon! Bye!
