So, hey, guys! How's everybody doing? I just want to start off by apologizing, again, for being offline for so long! I have had a lot of major things happening lately and unfortunately, my blog (and a few other things) had to be pushed aside. But I plan to change that as best I can very soon. Let's start with this post which will hopefully help explain what the hell I've been up to all this time.
First of all, if you saw the homepage, you know my birthday has come and gone, and I am now 23. Also, if you didn't know already, you can see on the homepage that I am no longer a college student - now I am a college graduate! I officially have a Bachelor's in Journalism with a creative writing minor! And this brings us to the biggest update, the one I'm most excited about.
After about six months of searching the internet, sending emails, interviewing by phone, and showcasing my work, I have finally been hired into a job in my field. I don't live in Missouri anymore; I moved to Nebraska to be a copy editor for a local newspaper. I've been here about a month now, and I love it. Ever since my college publishing class, I've wanted to do layout and design work, and that's exactly what this job pays me to do! It's a great start to my career, and I hope that I can only move forward with my dreams from here.
Accompanying me on this first big step in my journey is my best friend and partner in crime, Dana. She just got a brand new job at a restaurant in town - in fact, she's there now, and I'm doing this cuz I'm alone at home and bored. XD
Anyway, our apartment is super nice, and I hope to post some pics of it here for you guys pretty soon. Our neighbors are great (i.e. quiet) and one of the reporters from my paper lives here too! Just two doors down the hall from us! Everyone at work is really great too, and I'm glad we came up here.
Well, I guess that's really about it for now. I hope you guys missed me as much as I missed writing for this blog. Like I said, I hope to use my days off to be on more now. If you're a returning reader, thanks so much for sticking by me! And if you're new to One Night Stanza, please drop by again! As always, if you have ideas or questions, please send me an email or tweet, or leave a comment. You can also find me on Facebook and Youtube, and soon I'll have a link to my Tumblr and maybe a new DeviantART account for you guys to see too.
Oh! And if you're from Nebraska, I'd love to know about any cool places you guys think Dee and I should check out. I love to travel and see new things, and we are always on the lookout for amazing local food! Ok? See you all later! *waves*
