Today I'm covering a PC game available on Steam. First of all, I highly recommend Steam if you don't have it already. There are tons of fantastic games from established publishers and indie developers alike, and scores of weekly deals and bundles, so you can get these awesome games pretty cheap. Check it out!
This week's review is about Half-Minute Hero - the game in which you have 30 seconds to save the world! That's right - 30 seconds. But that's not possible, you're saying right now. In fact it is, because you have a very special ally.
Also, side note, I don't know who composed the music for this game, but it is absolutely wonderful. Coupled with the randomness of the plot and frantic comedy of gameplay, it put my anime fan side in the mind of Slayers (go watch that too, btw, it's fantastic).
One more thing - you can play this using keyboard commands, but they are a little odd; you move using the arrow keys, select things using C or F depending on the action, use held items with S, and pause with Esc or Z. But you can also play with a USB compatible controller - I have an Xbox one that my roommate uses, but for some reason it won't work with my laptop. Probably user error, but if you know how to fix it, please let me know (it's getting harder to play with one of my arrow keys missing...).
I think that about covers it. If this sounds like a game you'd enjoy, head on Steam. It's available for $9.99 USD right now. There's also a sequel, Half-Minute Hero: The Second Coming, but I haven't played it yet so I can't tell you anything about it.
Finally, if you'll notice, there are pics with this post! I dunno where my head was at last week, but I forgot to put pics with the Child of Eden post. So, before you go, you can click the link below to see an updated post with a small photo gallery added to the end.
