Anyway, continuing with April's National Poetry Month theme, my mother sent me a poem that she wrote a while back. I love it, so I had to share it. It's about her kitten Corky, her favorite pet in the whole world.
Golden Fur by Christine Harris
I think that I will always have
a cat with golden fur;
to touch its molten silkiness,
and hear it’s gilded purr.
A feline ray of sunshine
softly draped across my bed --
by communion with this creature
my weary soul is fed.
No where else upon this earth
would I ever need to roam,
as long as God’s gift of golden love
inhabits my humble home.
My mom is kind of a crazy cat lady. But I love my furry babies too, so I don't really blame her. Also, she put together a little pic to go with this featuring Corky and his late brother Ranger (the one with white paws). Click the link below to see it.
Golden Fur
OK, guys. Confession time. I own George Orwell's 1984, but I have never read it. So I decided why not take it on my trip with me? It's a 3 hour plane ride and I'm sure there will be moments when I'm not running around but still need something to do. So hopefully I can put short reviews, summaries, opinions, something about what I'm reading in my posts while I'm in California. We'll see.
Also, I just found this online, and I have to share it with you guys! Remember my jaunting video for HelloHarto? Well, it didn't make it into the full-length vid that Hannah posted, but there are some other great ones and a great song to go with it. So today I will leave you with a vid of Hannah fans jaunting around the world!
